Installation

  • macOS 12 (Monterey) or later
  • Apple Silicon or Intel processor
  • Windows 10 or later (64-bit)
  • 4 GB RAM minimum

Both platforms require a stable internet connection for transcription and AI features.

Download the latest version for your platform from getdusky.app.

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg file.
  2. Drag Dusky into your Applications folder.
  3. Launch Dusky from Applications or Spotlight.
  1. Run the downloaded .exe installer.
  2. Follow the setup wizard — the default settings work for most users.
  3. Launch Dusky from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.

Dusky needs two macOS permissions to work. You are prompted during onboarding, but you can also grant them manually.

This permission lets Dusky capture screenshots and register as a screen-share-excluded window so it stays invisible on Zoom, Meet, and Teams.

  1. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Screen Recording.
  2. Toggle Dusky on.
  3. Restart Dusky if prompted.

Required only for live audio transcription.

  1. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.
  2. Toggle Dusky on.

Windows handles permissions through system prompts. Dusky requests access automatically on first use.

No manual configuration needed — Windows grants screen capture access to desktop apps by default.

Required only for live audio transcription.

  1. Open Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone.
  2. Make sure Microphone access is turned on and Dusky is allowed.

Launch Dusky and sign in with your email (magic link) or Google account. A free trial is included so you can test every feature before purchasing.
